About Frondescence

Nature-led intentional living for heart-led, ambitious, soul seekers.

Frondescence is an intentional blend of nature inspired support to help you unfurl the potential of the spaces in your life and elevate the everyday.

It’s a consultancy, a coaching practice, and a garden design studio. A unique ecosystem of nature-inspired intentional living support for heart-led, ambitious, soul-seekers to unfurl the potential of the inner and outer spaces of life.

I am based in Bristol, in the South West of England and I work face-to-face and online.

The Frondescence Ecosystem

Blending together intentional living and nature-led offerings to inspire you to live more consciously.

Each element of the Frondescence ecosystem, whether it is personal coaching, work-life and professional development coaching, seasonal living mentoring and biodiverse and natural garden design have been created to support you to discover more joy, nourish your wellness and cultivate more fulfilment to elevate the everyday.

Frondescence means ‘to unfurl new foliage’

Frondescence is a beautiful metaphor to summarise the work I do.

When a leaf unfurls it does so in its own time, it is intentional about the direction, the speed and the way it opens up. Every leaf on a tree positions itself within the canopy to capture just the right amount of light needed. Taking up its own space ready to photosynthesise and support the ecosystem of the tree, to grow and function.

I help people unfurl the potential of their inner landscapes and the space scapes of themselves. Which in turn shapes the outer landscapes of the spaces they are part of, at home and at work. We do this in a sustainable way, connected to the season of life we are in.

Connecting to the inner spaces of ourselves, and crafting meaningful and intentional outer spaces in our lives feels empowering.

We take up the space we want to.

We angle towards the light to absorb the energy we want.

We connect to our aspirations and purpose, nourishing ourselves and bringing us joy.

We unfurl, just as leaves unfold their new foliage.

A grounding set of principles and values shape each area of the Frondescence ecosystem helping support each area to thrive and feel aligned.

Welcome to Frondescence…

I’m Lucy, a heart-led, quietly ambitious, multi-certified coach, personal development and seasonal living mentor, and garden designer. I’m the Founder and Director at Frondescence.

A tea drinker, mum to one, dog-mum, wife, a multi-passionate creative, and an urban gardener. I am someone who has a dream to help you unfurl your potential and discover how you can elevate every day.

Seduced by sweeping British coastlines, undulating hills, deciduous forests (especially in autumn), urban trees in bloom, meandering streams, and wildflower meadows, I feel at home when outdoors, holding a map, and capturing photos of the details I see in nature. I live in Bristol with my family and have spent the past two decades discovering how to live life with more intention.

I spent 19 years working in corporate HR and People teams, where I was part of passionate teams cultivating high-performing company cultures. My roles and work involved recruiting top talent, coaching and mentoring leaders and talented rising stars, creating and delivering culture based wellbeing projects, deep diving into company culture and refreshing company values, creating and founding the BCorp mentoring program, and running the first corporate internal self-belief coaching offering. I sculpted a portfolio career with creative thinking and curiosity at it’s heart. I knew where my strengths, passions and values came alive. I knew what made me thrive.

An opportunity arrived allowing me to make a change in my work and bring my portfolio career together with my life passions and create my dream job. Whilst creating the elements I knew I was missing something in my business, a way to connect more to nature, and so I trained as a garden designer to add another element to my business.

I created Frondescence to help heart-led ambitious soul seekers create a life which feels more joyful, fulfilling and nourishing. When we can connect to our passions, understand ourselves better and create nourishment through touch points in our week we can start to unfurl our own potential and the potential of the spaces we are part of.

Drawing on my Masters Geography degree specialising in both human and physical environments and my passion analysing the geography of spaces, together with my extensive HR experience, my love of personal development, seasonal living, gardening and creativity, I decided to create Frondescence.

The seeds of this work started 2011 when I started a personal blog. Created following a life-changing work sabbatical where I discovered I wasn’t living and doing what I most wanted to do, I wrote about living intentionally through the seasons whilst living in a city. I have been intentionally connecting to a word of the year since 2014, and writing seasonal manifestos since 2016, both shape how I choose to live. Spending time in our urban garden was an escape from a busy work-life and a way to connect with the seasons. It has been a passion of mine and I decided to discover more about how to shape these outdoor spaces and connect people with the power of plants and horticulture.

My mission with Frondescence is to help you reconnect to nature’s beauty, wisdom and uniqueness. When we truely feel connected to the rest of nature we focus on helping our planet through conservation and healing. We can do this through many touchpoint in our life, through our senses and the spaces we create in work and in life. I want to help you create spaces in your life where you thrive and look after your wellness and notice the world beyond our screens.
